Alex Mohr, PhD

Alex is the Director of Microbiomics at Theriome, where he spearheads initiatives that integrate multi-omics and systems biology approaches to advance precision medicine. As a co-founder of Theriome, Alex has been instrumental in pioneering research on the gut microbiome, leveraging bioinformatics and multi-omic analyses to illuminate the intricate relationships between microbiota, host metabolism, and health outcomes. His work emphasizes the potential of microbiome-based interventions to enhance individual resilience and inform therapeutic strategies.

In addition to his role at Theriome, Alex serves on the board of the American Board of Precision Medicine (ABOPM) as the Director of Microbiomics, supporting the transition of precision medicine from theory to practice. He is also a postdoctoral fellow funded by the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK), specializing in gut microbiome research that bridges microbiology, nutrition, and functional medicine. Alex is passionate about translating emerging scientific advances into practical applications for clinicians.

Session

Optimizing Gut Health: Clinical Applications for Microbiomics

Description

Explore the fundamentals of microbiomics and its application in precision medicine. This session will compare microbiomic testing methods, assess their clinical relevance, and demonstrate how microbiome insights can inform personalized therapeutic strategies for gastrointestinal health. Attendees will also discover emerging technologies, such as AI and digital twinning, that integrate microbiome and metabolome data to predict patient outcomes and enhance clinical decision-making.
